Gucci Waist Belt Bag
My first advertising job out of college was in Chicago, at a top media agency. Even then, I had CHAMPAGNE taste, but was on a beer budget. I saw this girl walking around downtown Chicago with a cup of coffee in hand, on her phone, wearing this adorable Gucci belt bag cinched around her waist. Her outfit was simple, but this little belt bag pulled her look together, and appeared effortless. This bag would become mine!
Fast forward about 10+ years, and hundreds of wears later, my Gucci Waist Belt Bag had been through it all. I had loved, and worn this little bag to death. I loved it so much, that I recently bought another one, and retired my original for a new model.
How I (Vee) Rock It
Many of my friends would joke about the idea of a FANNY PACK. They thought of a retiree on vacation with a hideous bulky nylon pouch. However, upon seeing this little baby, they instantly saw that this was no regular fanny pack, THIS was a true fashion piece. The GG Supreme pattern of this canvas bag serves well as a neutral. It looks great with jeans, or trousers, but also acts as a functional belt when worn with dresses.
It has especially come in handy for venues that only allow small bags such as concerts and sporting arenas. Also great for busy shopping trips, pub crawls, random excursions, and the list goes on. It has allowed me to be hands free without sacrificing style.
There are 2 large front compartments, one with a flap closure, and one with zip closure. I like to put my important items like my ID, keys, and credit cards in the zipper pouch. The other pouch is perfect for holding my phone and lip gloss. The rear zip compartment is great for holding receipts, and cash.
Ready to Shop?!

The availability of this bag seems to fluctuate. The waist strap also differs depending on season. The year I got my original bag, the Gucci store did not have the signature red and green strap, so i got the brown strap with the classic GG Supreme pattern. Last year when I got the latest version from Neiman Marcus, I was able to get with the traditional waist strap. It also comes in an all black variation.
Hi there,
I am a freelance writer, and I recently wrote a blog post for Molly Shaheen’s blog that included a backlink to you. As a blogger myself, I love to know where I am linked, so I figured I would let you know. I linked to your “Fashionable Fanny Pack” article under the Gucci fanny pack. I included the direct link to the blog post under “website”.
Cheers,
